Our History

Tropinka Summer Camp started in 2009 when Alexander Krupin and Alexei Lvinskyi came up with this desire to be part of something big.

With the support of the Ukrainian Bible Camp, Tropinka camp welcomed its first campers in the summer of 2010. Using the Ukrainian Bible Camp (UBC)’s camp property on Pigeon Lake, they had found the perfect spot. With many years of experience, Alexander Krupin organized the business and the organizational side of the camp and Alexei Lvinskyi acted as the program director. The vision for the camp was established as a Russian speaking camp that provides a high quality camping experience to children from the Toronto community while educating them in the basics of the Christian faith. Many young adults and teenagers from Canada and United States have joined the leadership team in Toronto to form a community of staff and volunteers that create a safe and fun environment for the campers. Several hundreds of children have attended our camp over the years with over 60% of them are returning year after year.

In 2013, Yevheniy Mykhailov expressed his desire to establish a Tropinka Camp in Montreal, Quebec, his hometown.

With support from Ontario's leadership staff, Camp Tropinka established a second permanent location in the province of Quebec in 2014. A partnership was formed with Camp Frontier Lodge, and Tropinka continues to operate at this location, conveniently situated two hours from Montreal. Camp Tropinka Quebec has become a popular choice for Russian-speaking families in Montreal.

Tropinka is the largest Russian-speaking overnight camp in Canada. Our mission is to excel in all aspects of providing an exceptional overnight camp experience to Canadian children. We carefully select and train our staff members to serve every child and ensure our camp remains a safe, fun environment. In the years to come, we hope to expand throughout Canada and the United States.

"Excellent summer camp! I highly recommend signing your child up as soon as possible—they won't want to miss out on all the summer fun that's planned!"

"Outstanding experience! The grounds are beautifully maintained, the staff is dedicated, and the environment is incredibly fun."

"My son loved it. It is going to be our 3rd year at MTL camp"

“Thank you so much for the positive and delightful memories of camp. My son Robert was at the 6 week ( August 6 - August 12 ) 6-10 years 2023 years. It was the first time we sent a child to camp and never regretted it. Next year he dreams of coming for two weeks and is excited about all the competitions, activities and boating and ATV rides. He is making plans for next year, asked to enroll him in dancing and soccer to show his achievements to everyone next year)))). Not once did he mention the bad weather..... Thank you for the excellent organization of recreation for our children. I am grateful that you have such counselors who create a friendly group of very different children. And also thank the administration of the camp, which came up with such activities that my son overflowed with emotions of delight. To the cooks who prepared delicious food. For the guys who led social networks and I was able with my son to experience his emotions and not worry about how he is there. Thank you for your sponsors who made this trip happen. Thank you to all of the camp staff, especially the counselor in room 6, for helping my son not being afraid of going to camp as it was his first experience. You changed his perception of camp! He said that everyone at camp is good and kind. Thank you all so much, he is asking for next year!!!”
